From beginners to the seasoned professional, Hybrid Stix Drum Teaching Studio provides expert drum kit lessons.
We cover all age groups from beginners to professional students.
All styles of drum kit performance are taught here, from Latin American right through to the highly respected Moeller System, with emphasis on improvement through encouragement and realistic goal setting. Beginner students study from the superb Drumsense Teaching Method which is proven to give superb results. The studio itself is fully equipped with professional standard drum kits and audio devices. The last 3 years have see another 100% examination success rate with 87% of the students achieving a distinction. Two students have also placed in the top 40 of the Young Drummer of the Year competition in 2023 and 2024.
Individual hour lesson: £35.00
Individual half hour: £20.00

Lesson are to be paid for in cash, card or bank transfer.
Where possible, 48 hrs notice of a lesson cancellation should be given. Full lesson fee is payable if no cancellation notice is given.
Unwanted lessons are non refundable.
Simon Mellish has been playing the drum kit for 42 years and has been teaching drum kit for 28 years. His expert knowledge of the instrument gained over many years of performing coupled with a true passion for teaching drum kit, gives the student the perfect environment to learn in. Simon carries an enhanced DBS certificate and has full public liability insurance.
Past students include Derrick McKenzie, famed drummer with Jamiroquai.
Performance credits include Derrick Nash from the Jools Holland rhythm Blues and Orchestra, famed vibraphonist, Roger Beaujolais plus many recording sessions for television and radio. Simon was also the recipient of a British Drum Company Legend award for long service to the company.
